Of course, my prayer life is especially enhanced. I saw a few different kinds on Amazon, but they didn't include all of the prayers (or Liturgy) found in this book. But given how little I know about Orthodoxy, I'm very glad to have found this book specifically. I am a catechumen, so my opinion is not based from experience. ![]() My only disappointment was that it did not include the Service of Compline. I would have given it 4.5 star rating, if it had been available! The Prayer Book has just about everything an Orthodox Christian needs in one place. Also my first exposure to an overview of the Liturgy. Many Canons and Akathysts to ponder as well as the daily prayers & communion prayers. I use this small volume weekly thru Lent and Pentecost as well as for each Feast to refresh the Hymnody in my mind and heart before services. ![]() This prayer book "lives up to its own press", is what I sought and used daily.Īs an evangelical convert to the Holy Faith, this small well made volume was my first exposure to the Orthodox Prayer life of the Church. ![]() The articles in the back on prayer, especially the Jesus prayer, are quite informative for beginners. ![]() This is the prayer book I give to all new catechumens.
